Reichenbach Iris Frit

Beads made with Reichenbach Iris Frit

These beads have been made with CoE 104 glass and Reichenbach Iris Frit CoE 94(+/-2).

Iris Light Blue

  • Iris frit twistie made with Effettre Straw Yellow rods (CoE 104) and Reichenbach Iris Light Blue frit (CoE 94).
  • Reichenbach Mystic Pink or Mystic Green rods (CoE 104)
  • Uroboros Clear (CoE 104)
  • Silver Foil

To make these beads:

First make a small base out of Reichenbach Mystic Pink or Mystic Green CoE 104. Roll in silver foil and marver. Wrap Iris twistie around the bead a couple of times making sure you do not completely cover all of the Mystic Pink or Mystic Green. Melt in, marver and shape; I find that the marvering brings out the colours of the Iris frit. Encase in CoE 104 clear. I have used Uroboros Clear CoE 104. A neutral flame was used to make these beads, the Iris frit does not need reducing to bring out colours, the marvering will do this, reducing does not have a nice effect.
